2018 Edition Quality education is the greatest hope for the future, and teachers are instrumental in ensuring that students get the best possible education.
The Bayport Teacher Innovation Competition was launched in 2014 by Bayport Savings and Loans in partnership with Reach for Change Ghana and with support from Ghana Education Service (GES), Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) and National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT). The competition seeks to identify and reward teachers with innovative ideas and that can improve learning in literacy, numeracy or STEM. The competition is open to all public school teachers from basic to secondary level.
To date, Bayport and Reach for Change have provided 25 exceptional teachers with financial support, advice, coaching and training to help develop and scale their ideas to become financially sustainable and reach as many students as possible. The winning teachers’ progress is monitored for a year to ensure they meet agreed targets.
Bayport believes that the solutions to some of the problems with education in Ghana will come from innovative teachers who understand the issues deeply and have creative solutions and the entrepreneurial drive to realise big changes.
