It is official: Bayport Ghana is one of Ghana’s best loved brands. The announcement was made at the Premier Brands Awards event that took place at the Golden Tulip on in Accra 16 May 2014. Ghana’s Premier Brands programme is an initiative of Premier Brands Ghana, which is an independent brand building consultancy, and The Centre for Brand Analysis Ghana (TCBAG), and is supported by Corporate Standards Limited. The programme started in 2012 and seeks to identify exceptional brands and reward them for excellence in branding and customer loyalty.
“This award is a clear recognition of Team Ghana’s hard work and an endorsement of the commitment of Bayport Ghana to always make a difference by living The Bayport Way,” said Kofi Adu-Mensah, MD of Bayport Ghana. “We were overjoyed when we received the news that Bayport had been chosen as one of Ghana’s premier brands.”
Kofi and Mrs Angela Leibel attended the awards event on behalf of Bayport Ghana. “It is indeed an honour and a huge confidence booster for us that our growing customer base selected Bayport Ghana as one of Ghana’s premier brands,” said Mrs Leibel.
The premier brands process
Ghana’s premier brands are selected by interviewing respondents in various cities across the country. For the 2014 awards, 1 200 people in Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi, Tamale, C ape Coast, Koforidua and Sunyani were asked to name their favourite brands in different categories. The identified brands were ranked and the top 10 selected for the awards. A premier brand is defined as a product or service that consumers repeatedly choose over competing products and services, and are willing to pay a premium for.
