This prestigious award highlights Bayport’s ongoing commitment to empowering individuals through financial education.
Financial literacy is a key pillar of Bayport’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.
Over the past year, Bayport has actively engaged in various financial literacy activities targeted at staff, students, customers, and the general public. These efforts have been delivered through workshops, social media platforms, emails and SMS to customers, with a focus on important financial topics such as budgeting, savings, planning, and financial management.
In 2023, Bayport extended its financial literacy campaign to Senior High Schools across Ghana. The company organized workshops at multiple schools, providing students with essential knowledge and skills to make informed financial decisions both now and in the future. Highlights of this initiative include:
- Oda Senior High School: On August 30th, 2023, Bayport conducted a financial literacy workshop for over 1,000 students. The session included training on how to identify personal skills and passions, alongside lessons on savings and budgeting. Bayport also donated a projector and screen to support the school’s educational efforts.
- Konongo Odumase Senior High School: On September 29th, 2023, Bayport reached about 2,000 students at Konongo Odumase Senior High School. The workshop covered topics related to budgeting, financial planning, and savings, and provided an interactive platform for students to ask questions. A projector and screen were also donated to the school as part of Bayport’s commitment to enhancing learning environments.
- Swedru Senior High School: Continuing its financial literacy initiative into 2024, Bayport visited Swedru Senior High School, where 1,200 students participated in a workshop focused on savings and financial management. As with previous visits, Bayport donated a projector and screen to the school to further support educational activities.
These workshops aim to equip students with the necessary tools to manage their finances effectively, ensuring they are better prepared for their futures. Bayport’s contribution to financial literacy not only benefits the participants but also fosters a culture of financial responsibility within the wider community.
