As part of its ongoing social responsibility efforts, the Bayport Employee-Led Team made a significant impact on the Akwadum Christian Orphanage in the Eastern Region on Friday, 18th November. The orphanage, founded by the late Elizabeth Osei, is home to 65 children aged 3 to 20, under the care of the headteacher and dedicated staff. Bayporteers presented donations worth GHS 5,000, 11 tablets, footballs, and a variety of essential food items to support the children’s welfare. Beyond donations, the team also carried out critical renovations, upgrading the orphanage’s washrooms and classrooms to create a safer and more inspiring environment for learning and living.
In addition to the material support, the day included engaging activities, such as a motivational talk on health and well-being, encouraging the children to embrace positive habits and strive for responsible futures. The matron and staff expressed heartfelt appreciation for Bayport’s generosity, emphasizing the transformational impact of the visit and the new chapter it symbolizes for the children.
“We are deeply moved by Bayport’s kindness and hope this marks the beginning of a lasting relationship,” said the orphanage’s matron.
This initiative reaffirms Bayport’s commitment to uplifting communities and investing in a brighter future for Ghana’s youth.
