Bayport Savings and Loans PLC is reinforcing its commitment to building thriving communities with a major clean-up and sanitation awareness exercise at Madina Zongo Junction. The initiative reflects the organisation’s enhanced focus on structured employee volunteerism Project which was launched this year.
Held on Saturday, 25th October 2025, the exercise brought together staff from Bayport’s Credit Department, the La Nkwantanang Municipal Assembly, and an NGO FOBAC in a joint effort to tackle sanitation challenges in one of Madina’s busiest commercial hubs.
Volunteers removed waste, cleared clogged drains, and educated residents on proper waste disposal to prevent disease and improve the overall quality of life. A total of 24 Bayport employees dedicated their time and energy to the activity, helping improve drainage flow, reduce litter, and strengthen community engagement around environmental care.
The BayVolunteerism Project builds on years of staff-led initiatives, including blood donations, orphanage support, and rapid response to community needs, and introduces a structured, scalable, and strategic approach to volunteerism aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As part of Bayport’s 2025 Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), every employee will participate in at least one volunteer activity by year-end, ensuring widespread ownership and measurable impact.
“Our communities are at the heart of everything we do. This volunteerism programme empowers our employees to actively contribute to the wellbeing of the places where we live and work, and to create lasting, positive change” – Agyeman Appiah- Head of People and Culture.
Driven by purpose and guided by strong ESG values, Bayport Savings and Loans PLC remains committed to strengthening community resilience and environmental cleanliness nationwide.
