Bayport Savings and Loans continues to strengthen its commitment to youth empowerment with a high-impact financial literacy and career guidance outreach at Akroso Senior High Technical School on 19 March 2026. The initiative formed part of the company’s ongoing efforts to equip young Ghanaians with practical knowledge and skills to confidently shape their financial and career paths.
The engagement impacted over 1,500 students, creating an interactive platform for learning, inspiration, and personal development. Through engaging discussions and real-life insights, students were encouraged to take ownership of their future and make informed decisions from an early stage.
The outreach featured two key sessions designed to support both personal and financial growth.
A Career Guidance Session, delivered by Mr. Agyeman Appiah Jnr, Head of People and Culture, provided students with valuable direction on identifying their strengths, understanding their purpose, and making intentional career choices. The session emphasized growth, discipline, and the importance of building a meaningful and impactful future.
A Financial Literacy Session, led by Mr. Desmond Adote, Customer Experience Manager, focused on practical money management skills. Students were introduced to key concepts such as budgeting, saving, and responsible financial decision-making, equipping them with tools to build strong financial habits early in life.
Adding a personal and inspiring touch to the engagement, students were motivated by Mr. James Agyiri, Head of Collections and Accounts Management, an alumnus of the school. His story served as a powerful reminder of what is possible with focus, determination, and the right guidance.
In a gesture of support towards the school’s academic development, Bayport also donated a projector and projector screen to enhance teaching and learning. The Headmistress, Madame Belinda Wiredu Twum, expressed her appreciation for the initiative, describing it as impactful and timely, and commended Bayport for investing in the development of students and providing resources that will positively influence their learning experience.
